Food & beverage prices retreated 0.25% in the IPCA-15 November, says IBGE

Brazilian families have returned to spend less on food in November, according to the national consumer price index Broad-15 (IPCA-15). Prices in the Group food and drinks had a fall of 0.25%, after having already retreated 0.15% in October, according to the Brazilian Institute of geography and statistics (IBGE) on Thursday, 23. Spending on food for home consumption fell 0.45% in November. The families paid less by carioca beans (-7.03%), sugar (-4.52%), cassava flour (-4.25%), sugar (Crystal-3.81%) and eggs (-3.69%). But the English potato (19.59%), carrots (13.39%) and meat (0.22%) were more expensive. Already the food away from home rose 0.10% on the IPCA-15. The regional results have varied from a fall of 1.05% in the metropolitan region of Curitiba until high of 2.26% in the metropolitan region of Belém.
