Price of beef tallow fall 19.2 percent since the beginning of the year

The increased competitiveness of soybean oil front of sebum – both inputs compete in the biodiesel market – has resulted in a drop in demand for animal fat and, consequently, depreciation on the market. According to a survey of Scot Consultoria, in Central Brazil''s reference market, a pound of tallow is being sold at R$2,10 from Thursday (16). This is a cumulative fall of 19.2% compared to 2.60 R$ charged at the beginning of the year. In Rio Grande do Sul, the fall was slightly smaller. Last week, the product reached R $2,20, devaluation of 15.4% in comparison with the beginning of January. For short and medium terms, the trend is that the offer greater than the demand keep the bassist on the market bias.
