COPOM highlights what market predicts inflation to 4.25% in 2019

The statement from the monetary policy Committee (Copom) announced on Wednesday, 31, stressed that the expectation for inflation to 2019 and "more distant horizons" is around 4.25% in research Focus held weekly by the institution. In April, the paper quoted the forecasts were "slightly below 4.5%". In the next few weeks, the national monetary Council (CMN) will decide the inflation target to 2019. On the economic team, there is no debate about the relevance of reducing this reference stationed at 4.50% since 2005. In the document released earlier by the Central Bank, the Committee notes that the estimates for inflation in the research Focus "retreated to around 4.0 percent for 2017 and are around 4.4% for 2018".
