Soybeans: Oil Price rises in BR, while grains and bran are dropping

The price of soybean oil are high in Brazil, reaching the highest levels since February this year, in nominal terms. The increase of the values is related to firm domestic demand, mainly from the biodiesel sector, and growth in exports. Against this movement, prices of soybeans and bran have been weakening, reflecting reduced shipments from Brazil and expectations of high stocks at the end of the 2016/17 season, which has left buyers cautious in the negotiations. In addition, the highest bidder in Argentina and expectations of massive 2017/18 season crop of the United States also have pressed the values in Brazil. The indicator CEPEA/ESALQ Paraná fell 1.44% between 16 and 23 June, closing at $63.18/sc of 60 kg on Friday, 23. The soy Indicator ESALQ/BM & FBovespa Paranaguá yielded 1.57%, to R $68,44/60 kg sc on day 23.
