Spot price of power goes for above-average rain; go to a minimum in the South

SAO PAULO (Reuters)-the value of the electricity in the short-term market, or settlement price differences (PLD), took the fall for the next week in all submarkets due to prospects of above-average rains, said the electric energy trading Chamber (CCEE) on Friday. In the Southeast, where is concentrated the bulk of water reservoirs, the price fell to 144.47 real 15% for megawatt-hour on the load average. In the South there was strong retraction, of 80%, for the minimum value established by the regulation for the LDP, 33.68 Brazilian reais per megawatt-hour. The retraction was guided by prospects of rain, according to the National Electric System Operator (ONS) should add 250% the historical average in the South in June, down from a projection of 147% the week before. In the Southeast, the rains should be 111%.
