Brazilian market Grows 15% in 2017 PCs

Brazilian PC market ended the year of 2017 with a growth of 15%, reaching a total of 5,190,000 units sold. The data are from the intelligence company IDC Brazil. Only in the last three months of last year, were sold 1479 thousand machines, 21% more than in same period in 2016. "It was the first year of growth in sales of PCs in the country since 2011, thanks to factors such as the release of the FGTS, and the best Black Friday since it began to be held in the country.", says Peter Hagge, research analyst of IDC Brazil. In the annual results, the largest growth was of notebooks, 13%, compared with 26% of the desktops. In terms of revenue, sales throughout the year totaled R $11.73 billion, representing a growth of 3.3%. Forecast for 2018 to 2018 projections indicate a growth of 2%, with sales around $5.3 million, as a reflection of economic recovery and political stability, increased consumer confidence and business, and demand repressed in recent years. "The trend is more than an exchange of equipment to upgrade from that purchase of the first machine, and this is reflected also in the type of equipment sold-there is a greater concern with quality and less demand for input products", analyzes Hagge.
